My hope for this channel is to completely educate all trombone players in the Jazz-Rock field. I play the Trombone, Guitar and Bass. My profession is music educator. I also run this juicing channel ua-cam.com/users/JuiceAddict . My trombone is a Bach Aristocrat Student Model Trombone ($300 on Craigslist).

I'm getting back into the trombone. Here's my first video in many years. I'll get a better version of this video up in a few days. My new horn is the BAC New Orleans Jazz Trombone.
This music was purely improvised and not rehearsed at all (just the way I like it). It was made last week and it's a bit raw.. The purpose is to have fun as I get back into some serious playing. As for guitar and bass, I can no longer play those instruments due to arthritis, but my trombone playing will continue forever and there's more coming soon!

so little comments out there, but i must say that this transcription shows all Bill''s magic - when he plays, you can think that its easy, because there is no tension in his sound, but when you see the notes and try it by yourself you're like "wtf this is insane".. 0:47 1:10 1:32 jeeez

how does bill achieve those embellishments at measures 15 and 16?
It's really just quickly lipping up to the partial above while moving the slide to the next note. So it becomes F then a quick lip slur to the G while moving to the E. It makes more sense when you try it on the horn.

The amazing thing about this solo, is the sheer stamina that Carl Fontana had. I've been trying to play this transcription for months and I find it the most arduous solo ever.
+JazzRockTrombone I think Eddie Rosiles said that "HILL'S EDGE" has the same musical chord changes as "TUNE UP". It is a jazz standard number.
